ABOUT PreSUDence
LaToya Hartwell, the creator of PreSUDence Artisan Body and Bath, hails from Jackson, Mississippi. Her fascination with soaps and fragrances began in childhood, when she would eagerly explore new bath products, intrigued by their textures, lathers, and scents. This curiosity eventually led LaToya to experiment with soapmaking.
A pivotal moment in her journey came during a conversation with her grandfather, who revealed that soapmaking was part of their family history. He shared that, after the Civil War, his uncle ran a soapmaking business that served both Black and white customers—an extraordinary feat for the time. Learning about her great-great-uncle's legacy sparked a deeper connection for LaToya, fueling her passion for the craft.
In April 2016, LaToya officially launched her own soapmaking business, naming it PreSUDence—a name chosen for its meaning, "a cut above the rest." Through PreSUDence, LaToya is committed to elevating the self-care experience and transforming bath time into a ritual of luxury and self-love. Her line of soaps, body scrubs, and body butters are carefully crafted with high-quality ingredients designed to nourish the skin, promote healthy, youthful texture, and enhance the feeling of well-being.
At PreSUDence, LaToya encourages customers to embrace their skin with pride and intimacy, inspiring them to *SHOW UP SKIN FIRST*. Through her work, she strives to provide products that are not just skincare essentials, but daily reminders of self-care, self-love, and the importance of honoring one’s body.

“I love my soap. It will leave my skin feeling so freaking soft. My skin has not been very dry either. Will order again.”
