ABOUT PreSUDence
PreSUDence Artisan Body and Bath’s creator, LaToya Hartwell, is a Jackson, Mississippi native. Since childhood, LaToya has been intrigued with soaps and fragrances. LaToya loved to try out new soaps and bath products, so she could discover their various textures, lathers, and aromas. This curiosity surrounding soap led LaToya to begin experimenting with soapmaking in her apartment kitchen. Later in life while having a conversation with her grandfather, LaToya found that her family history included soapmaking. LaToya’s grandfather revealed that post-civil war, his uncle owned a soapmaking business that serviced both Black and white customers in his community; this was very unique, given the times. Learning about her great-great uncle ignited the spark that LaToya already possessed for soapmaking. In April 2016, LaToya started a small soap making business and named it PreSUDence because of its meaning: a cut above the rest. LaToya is dedicated to making products to elevate the self-care experience and make bath time more than just a daily routine. PreSUDence soaps, body scrubs, and body butters are curated with ingredients that exude self-love. PreSUDence encourages you to be intimate with your own skin and SHOW UP SKIN FIRST. LaToya is committed to producing high quality bath and skincare products that are designed to enrich the skin and produce a healthy, young, and visibly smooth texture.
